About Us

Interagency Forestry Specialists is a small, minority, woman owned business based in Grants Pass, Oregon. Formed to provide mitigation solutions to meet the immediate threat of wildland fire to our western forests & communities. Interagency Forestry Specialists, LLC  represents consultants with decades of experience working with or alongside state and federal agencies, non profit forest collaboratives, fire safe councils or fire wise communities and private land owners. Our mission is to  provide unmatched skill and experience within our consultants, and with their experience and dedication, drives your project towards a safe and successful project planning or implementation outcome. We are very passionate about supporting communities prepare for a wildland fire event while changing the current unhealthy state of our forested landscape back to a historical,  natural, healthy fire adapted condition.

Managing Consultant

Brian Mulhollen 

Serving as our managing consultant, Brian Mulhollen has over 30 years of experience in wildland fire and fuels management, community forest planning and fundraising. Starting his career in 1992 in  his hometown of Jacksonville Oregon, Brian was a pivotal member of the Jacksonville Woodlands Association Trail System by fundraising  and was instrumental in acquiring key parcels of land that now make up the  preserve around the historic town.  In 1993, Brian was awarded two Jefferson Awards,  for ”Outstanding Public Service” given by the American Institute for Public Service in Washington D.C. for his work on the Jacksonville Woodlands Park and Trail System.

 

He also began his fire career as a volunteer firefighter / EMT .He continued his career as a Federal Wildland Firefighter in various crew and leadership positions as a Hotshot, Helicopter Rappeller and engine crew before becoming a Fuels Management Specialist /  Battalion Chief with the U.S. BLM in Northern California. During his service with the BLM, , Brian developed and wide range of skillsets directing all aspects of wildfire & fuels management operations, fire rehabilitation and burned area rehabilitation efforts, community forest planning and working closely with fire safe councils. Brian has a high success rate with obtaining results through interagency planning and fundraising and collaborative processes that have resulted in the implementation of fuels management treatments that greatly benefited the communities that he served. He is an asset to any project or treatment he has been assigned to.
